Woodwatchhk successfully crowdfunded on Kickstarter in 2017, the goal of the project was to recycle wood to make personalized watches.

We source our materials locally in various ways, such as old furniture or construction waste, broken branches during typoons, even broken old pianos. They are transformed and given new life and form before they are disposed of to the landfill, and become "wood watches" in everyone's hands. "木表" replaces the word "Gold" with the word "Wood" in the Chinese character, which symbolizes our insistence on making watches with environmentally friendly recycled wood, hoping to awaken the public's awareness to the harmony between man and nature, and to undertake sustainable consumption as a way of life.

In consideration of age inclusivity, we have designed this model based on the Miyota 2036 quartz watch movement (Citizen), as it has a tall cannon pinion and hour wheel, so is easier for beginer watch maker to assemble the hands. Known for the sturdiness and performance, Miyota movements are ideal for our workshop. We have had participants from the age of 7 to 70 successfully assembled this model before!
